Pink Day, February 27, 2019

History. The original event was organized by David Shepherd and Travis Price of Berwick, Nova Scotia, who in 2007 bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after male ninth grade student Chuck McNeill was bullied for wearing a pink shirt during the first day of school.

We started Pink Day by walking over to Killarney High School to listen to the choirs perform. They were amazing. The teachers were so happy to see ex-students from Cook singing. 

The singing started then the audience was invited to join in during the chorus.

                             We walked back to eat our lunch.                 After lunch we had an assembly.

Ms. Shara is an transportation engineer. She came to tell us about her job.

A transportation engineer designs roads, bridges and highways.

Ms. Shara is just starting so she is a junior transportation engineer.

She designs roads, sidewalks and bike lanes around schools and parks.

She showed us a picture of our school.

The whole class helped to build a tunnel for the trains. We had to work together to make it work.

How can we make the tunnel better?

We have to make the parts the same size.

We need to make the tunnel bigger.

We have to make the bottom flat.

Valentine's Day

We made Valentine hedgehogs. Cutting all those hearts was hard work.

It took a long time to cut out all those hearts!

They were amazing, very cute!!!!

On February 14th we took our cards and delivered them to our neighbours around the school.

Every one delivered a Valentine to each house.

We came back to the school and played in the snow!!!

We made snow angels too.

Then we came in and had our party. What a fantastic day!!!!
