Neighbourhood Cleanup

This morning Div. 10 and 11 walked around the neighbourhood and picked up litter. We picked up 4 bags of garbage.

This school project has been happening now for a few years. We are happy to help keep our community clean!

Name Monsters

First we printed our names on a folded piece of paper. Next we cut around our names.

When we opened them up a monster appeared.

So creative!

 So colourful!

 So many different ideas!

                Wow, what terrific looking monsters!

Science World
We thank Ms. Wong for applying and getting a grant for the bus and for the admission to Science World.

A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature

You’ll never look at the world in the same way again! Created by the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) in Chicago, A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature, is an interactive and immersive exhibition that exposes and explains the mathematical patterns that abound in the natural world. From the delicate nested spirals of a sunflower’s seeds to the layout of the universe, this exhibition provides a unique perspective on our daily surroundings.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is an 1,800 square foot elaborate mirror maze in which you can navigate a seemingly infinite repeating pattern of mirrors. Interactive elements throughout A Mirror Maze: Numbers in Nature allow for hands-on learning, providing evidence that math is all around us in everyday life and revealing the beauty of our world through numbers.

Some of us felt dizzy, but all of us laughed and eventually found our way out!

We went around and enjoyed all the other exhibits

This was like a tornado.
We practiced arm strength.

This climbing rock wall turned counter clockwise as you climb towards the top.

After all that fun. We had a workshop on "Exploring Matter"

We mixed different powders with water.

What do you think is in this bottle?

Air, Vegetable Oil and food colouring mixed in water.

We added alka seltzer tablets.

                                                     so many bubbles were formed

For the last experiment dry ice was dropped into water. We watched the fog form. Then we stuck the hose into some soapy water. We made so many bubbles.

That was a great field trip!!!!!
