Probability in Math.

Probability is the chance that some event will happen.

We learned that impossible was something that is not able to happen. Certain is something that will happen.Unlikely is something that probably won't happen. Likely is something that will probably happen.

When we were asked if a talking horse will teach our class all day, we all yelled out impossible!

On Thursday we got into groups and had to answer some questions then we had to write them into fractions.

How many students
                     -are wearing a blue shirt?
                     -have a dog?
                     -have brown eyes?
                     -live in a townhouse?
                     -walk to school today?
                     -like M and M chocolates?
                     -played soccer at recess?
                     -can ride a bike?

The groups picked 5 questions from the list and then thought of 2 questions on their own.

This group asked how many students are in Grade 3?

Some of the groups worked very well together.

This group asked who has a dog?

Some groups had a rocky start but then learned to                                       work together.

One group asked how many students like STEM?

At the end we answered each question as a whole group.
We learned about fractions but we also learned how to work in a group.
