Darren from the Northwest Wildlife Preservation Society came to tell us about wildlife in BC.
Big Horned Sheep
A pair of horns might weigh up to 14kg.
Hummingbird birds weave together twigs, plant fibers, and bits of leaves, and use spider silk as thread to bind their nests together.
cougar skull
The peregrine falcon is the fastest animal on earth.
Females are brownish and the males are gray.
Then we got to look and touch. We were very careful.

This week Jeffrey, Ryan, Rosa and Nora came from UBC to show us how to make bread. It was so messy and so much fun. We ate three kinds of bread; white, wholewheat and one that was a mixture of both.
First we added yeast to some warm water, then we added a little bit of sugar.
We mixed the salt in the flour with our hands.
The yeast started to bubble.
Then we mixed the liquids and flour together.
We mixed and mixed then we all had to knead the dough for over 10 minutes!!!
Lucky for us Jeffrey, Ryan, Nora and Rosa baked the bread ahead of time for us to sample. All three loaves of bread were delicious.
In-school fieldtrips are fantastic!
